Education/Learning/Entrepreneur Plan 13 comments

Along with a Business Plan an Education Plan needs to be developed. It too is a living document and will be changed as I go along this journey of self development.

I don’t know what I don’t know. Yikes talk about panic.

About three days after listening to Module 1, thoughts started to crowd my mind. ‘Write it down’ I said to myself or I will forget.

This is what I came up with -
• Websites
• Domain names
• Hosting
• Keywords
• Content
• Autoresponders
• Blogs
• Google
• Traffic
• Twitter
• Social Media

Each bullet point got broken down further as I put notes against each one of what I needed to learn.

Gee I know what a website is and the theory behind it. Do I need to learn about that at this point in time – no I don’t? Next.

Domain Names – Learn how to purchase a domain name and from where.

Hosting – Learn an overview of hosting and decide who to use.

And so the list went on. As I started filling in the gaps I kept thinking of other things that I needed to add to the list. After about 30 mins I prioritised my list. No.1 was domain name. No.2 hosting, etc.
Each time I think of something that I need to learn I add it to the list. Like today I added videos to my list.

Does anyone know what else I could put on my list of things to learn – something you don’t know yourself or something that you do know?

Alex Jeffreys Coaching Program 1 comment

On Module 1 of his coaching course Alex talked for hours on Forward to Basics. You might be thinking – yea so what – and I must admit I thought that to. Alex explained his rationale for this as he believes that setting something up online is a business and should be treated as such.

As a business you need to plan ahead. Not just planning in your head but on paper. Starting with a year plan, then dividing this into three monthly, monthly, weekly and daily plans.  I was stumped.  I’ve never planned one week in advance never mind a whole year.

Over the next few days I thought about what Alex was saying and YES he’s right you do need to plan.

He talking about three plans -
1.    Business Plan
2.    Education/Learning/Entrepreneur Plan
3.    Personal Plan

A Business Plan is about RESULTS. Your results.

It defines and sets your goals
Gives you direction and focus
Outlines what you are going to achieve
Defines success
Helps to keeps it real

If you do it right it sets down the steps towards those goals.

It is easier to have a big plan and then break it down into steps, that way you don’t lose focus.

Any plan is a Living Document. It lets you plan as you go. It is going to change. You are going to change as you grow and your business grows.  You will revise, edit, delete and maybe start again as you go along.
