Affiliate Marketing And List Building – How To Combine Both Strategies To Get Maximum Profits

The affiliate marketing business model can be simply defined as a partnership between the merchant and the promoter where the promoter will get a certain percentage of the net sale as commission when the promoter is able to refer a customer to purchase the merchant’s product. This is very useful when the newbies have just started this business and they do not have their own product. They will be able to start this business fast by promoting other people’s product.

The list building model on the other hand can be simply defined as a process where you will be collecting a group of customer’s details using a professional autoresponder and following up with them consistently over a period of time with information or resources that they are interested in.

From the above definition, it will be a very powerful strategy if we combine the affiliate marketing strategy with the list building strategy. As you will be able to start the business fast by promoting other people’s product, you will be able to build your own list at the same time while you are making some sales. The easiest approach is to have a simple squeeze page where the main purpose is to get the visitors details.

When you have the squeeze page, you will be using the list building to build your list and you will be redirecting your subscribers to your affiliate link once they join your list. This ensures that there is the first point of promoting the product to them. Even if they do not purchase the product, you will still be able to follow up with them through email as you have their contact details.

This is very powerful as most of the sales come from the following up emails with the subscribers. The main reason is because the subscribers will have already received several emails from you and they are more familiar with you. People will only purchase products from someone that they can trust and you will want to make sure that you are the person that they can trust. Do put in the effort to build a good relationship with them and you will be richly rewarded.

Does Web Site Traffic Grow On Trees? by Victoria Munro – ArticleCity.com No comments yet

Once upon a time, there was a web designer who designed web sites and published them on the Internet. His life was not too complicated. To make a nice profit all he needed to do was simply build a site and upload it to the Internet.

Unfortunately these times have passed away and will never return again. That sweet old formula “create a site + publish it = success” does not work anymore. It did years ago, but we have to keep up with technology, new Internet conditions and requirements.

Time goes by, technology develops, conditions change. And it’s not necessarily a bad thing. What was unthinkable before is very real now. For example: RSS feeds are getting more and more popular. As our schedules become busier every day, we don’t have much time to browse through the Internet looking for important information. Now it’s enough to subscribe for articles, blog posts, fresh web site content on the topic that interests you the most and you will get the useful content flowing straight to you so you don’t even have to look for it.

I often see the same question appearing on many business marketing forums: “I’ve created a website but do not get any traffic. Where do I get the visitors? Can someone tell me what to do?”

I’d like to compare a web site to an island Imagine a beautiful tropical island, a small piece of paradise in the middle of the ocean. Many people would give a lot to own it, or at least get a chance to spend few days on it. But it’s … unoccupied because NOBODY KNOWS IT EXISTS!

This island could become quite a “hot spot” with ships bringing in crowds round the clock. But unless there is a map with exact coordinates to it nothing will happen. Secondly, that map needs to get in front of people’s eyes. I suppose showing few good shots would help get crowds interested. With other words some decent marketing should happen before we can see the desirable results.

Ok, back to the “traffic” question. Before I answer it, I’d like to ask you this:

1) What was already DONE to get the traffic?

2) What is the budget you can afford to pay for the traffic?

3) What is your time frame to generate traffic to your web site?

Depending on your answer I’d develop your “plan of attack”. Let’s look at three possible options:

1) Sufficient funds and time to invest into advertising campaign.

2) Little/no funds, enough time.

3) Little/no time, sufficient funds.

Option #1 – the best one, unfortunately does not happen too often in real life. I believe there will be no problem achieving great results with enough persuasion. Take your time (you’ve got enough of it anyway), learn every possible strategy and marketing method. Invest in SEO, PPC and every other advertising program you can lay your hands on.

Option #2 – I’d suggest to work hard on your Search Engine Optimisation. If you play your cards right, your site will come up within first few organic results and attract very decent amount of visitors. The down point is – it will take a long time for your site to be indexed within major search engines and appearing close to the top will require good SEO skills and patience. Don’t forget to spread the word through viral marketing, use reciprocal links, classified ads, article submission.

Option #3 – Most certainly go for PPC (pay per click advertising). Yahoo and Google will be your best bets, but don’t neglect smaller but less expensive engines like Kanoodle, LookSmart, MIVA.

How To Get Content Idea For Your Online Business 1 comment

Have you got stuck with thinking of what to write for your niche? This article will give you the quick and simple way to overcome this…

Let’s say you’re doing niche marketing and you’ve identified your niche as ‘fix relationship problem’. Now you want to create some content to generate traffic from the search engines, social websites, etc.

Here’s how to get the article’s body content — go to Yahoo Answers and search for variations of your keyword. This will tell you what problems people are having and what kind of solutions are being given to them.

If you pay really close attention, you will pick up a couple of great titles for articles and a list of different things that you can write about.

Let’s say your niche is “fix relationship problem” — what we are going to do right now is head on over to answers.yahoo.com and type in a variation of our keyword, for now we will stick with “relationship problem”.

One of the first threads I see is:

answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ar492YbXt0SqNty7VUZaxmQjzKIX;_ylv=3?qid=1006060207896

Just from the title of the post alone, I can come up with a couple of article titles right off the top of my head.

*How To Tell If Your Love Partner Is Ready

*5 Steps To Start A Serious Relationship

*How To Express Your Feeling To Your Love Partner

Do you see what I am doing here?

You see, internet marketing online is easy when you know the trick.

I am letting other people who are having problems in this area of their life determine what my content is going to be so that there is not a whole lot of guess work. I do not have to wonder whether or not my content is something that people will want to read. People are already telling me that they are searching for this type of information to help them in their lives and their relationships.

Let’s take a look at the next question and do the same thing. Even though this might seem repetitious on my part, I want to be absolutely certain that by the time you are done reading this technique you will be able to put it aside and carry all of these steps out on your own easily and with confidence that you are doing it correctly.

Now that we have a couple article titles, the next thing we have to do is come up with content for the articles. This is what I like to use Google and my own life experiences for.

You can also read other articles that are in circulation and put your own spin on things. I know that when I read almost any article, when I am done, I have ideas for how I could expand that topic in three different directions. This does take a little bit of creativity on your part, but the more you do it, the easier it will come to you.

We now know how to come up with content to write about, so it is time to put it into action.

SEO – How To Begin Your Internet Marketing Project 1 comment

If you’re interested in getting to the top of Google then that’s probably why you’re about to sit down and read this article, because as you know, search engine optimization is what your website needs. To learn SEO you should learn a little about html first, and find a way to do some sort of keyword analysis because if you cannot change your text on your website and you choose worthless key words, then your site will not be associated in the right category therefore you will not make any sales.

Just like you, there are many people out there thinking there is a secret to getting to the top of Google. If ranking highly in Google is top of your agenda, you need to be aware that your keyword score is important as is the number of links you have to your site. Be sure to get your keywords on the homepage of your site and have some engaging content on there. Search engine optimization basics revolve around the idea of keywords, and this in turn should drive traffic to the site and generate links.

Many people forget that there are some important basics to know before submitting a site to the search engines – a Google sitemap is one of them, and the correct meta data is also essential. After this, its all about the links and you need to start getting the inbound links to your site to give your site some value. When you have incoming links to your site it matters a lot that those sites have high page ranks for example if you have a site with a page rank of 7 linking to you then Google’s algorithm will crawl your site more frequently.

Be sure to remember that SEO is separated into two categories, white hat and black hat. Black hat SEO can be detrimental for your site and jeopardise your ranking in the SERPs. Before Google and all the other search engines changed their algorithms, webmasters would use some techniques to get their links to the top like hiding text, hiding links, link malls, and link farms. No webmaster should engage in illicit SEO practices and it could be highly detrimental to your site and its rankings if you do.

There is a lot more to Internet Marketing than just search engine optimization, however SEO is where it all starts. Search engine optimization improves the volume and quality of traffic to your web site. Before optimizing your site you should have some knowledge of how search algorithms work, and research on what people looking for your site search for to get to it. If you want a good page rank, you need to be aware of all these factors.

How to Market You Using Social Media 2 comments

With the need for individuals to connect through the cyberspace, so many people have turned to different social media such as twitter, facebook and squidoo to increase their online businesses’ productivity. But for those who aren’t yet in the know, social media can actually help you reach out to millions of people without having do sorts of black hat tricks like spamming. What’s great about social media is that marketing it is extremely effective without being that pricey. What happens is that your name gets listed in the search engines rather than your blog site or your website if people decide to google you up.

The very first thing that you have to do is to set up different accounts for highly ranked social media. Facebook is great because it’s the fourth most popular website in the entire cyber kingdom. When you’re done with your account and you already have a number of friends, you can then start working on your fan page where your friends can add you up and the business that you’re promoting. You can also use your wall to have people create business related posts to you.

Another social media called MySpace works quite the same as the mentioned social media only that you are given more freedom to customize your website however you want. But MySpace still offers custom templates if you prefer to have it the easier way.

Twitter has had great following among the tweens and teens of society but that doesn’t mean that you can’t use it to advertise your site. In this site, people can post short messages that other people can respond to. You can start your twitting experience by following other people. Here, you respond to their posts without starting it yourself. When you finally get more confident, you can start creating posts of your own that other people can reply to. You can basically start advertising about special offers your business currently has like different discounts on your products, new inventories and job openings.

What’s great a about marketing social media is that you can link up with your customers in a fraction of the price. The thing that’s lacking in internet businesses is the ability to interact with one’s customers. With social media, your customers can praise you or give you criticisms with the use of facebook, squidoo and twitter thus increasing the level of your relationship allowing you to serve them better. When this happens, you successfully edge out the competition.
